ABOUT
About Designed & Confused
If you want the story behind my company, Designed & Confused, visit my blog page. I work a full time job, and D&C is my passion project. D&C was created to provide a service, and offer products. These products are influenced by sports history. I create hats, pins, clothes, figures, etc. based on the style and aesthetic of logos, jerseys, and hats of the past.
I also offer services. My services include Logo design, branding kits, social media marketing, clothing design packages, marketing strategies and schedules. I have always loved design, and I believe I bring a unique perspective to creating. I was not classically trained in Graphic Design, but I was classically trained in Business Marketing. This dynamic brings intangible value because I can create a visually pleasing logo that aligns with your vision and mission as a business or individual. I can do the work of a designer and a brand strategist, all in one.
Kellen Harding
My name is Kellen Harding. I am the owner and creator of Designed & Confused. I am originally from the Seattle Washington area, but currently live in Detroit, Michigan. I have always loved marketing & design, and I am blessed to be able to create my own company that can help you bring your ideas to life! Along with our marketing & design services, we are a brand that is inspired by the past.
Like many young adults, I started my career doing manual labor, but I have very diverse experience in many different fields. I got my first job in the summer of 2017. It was at a landscaping company; digging trenches for sprinkler systems. Next summer, I worked the Night Shift on the weekends in an Amazon Warehouse. At the same time, I worked as a Sales Associate for Vans. In 2019, I worked at the Betty Feves Art Gallery, where I worked the front desk and helped artists design their gallery shows. When 2020 came around, I worked at Axe Bats, testing baseball bats for durability and performance. During this time, I always worked at Driveline Baseball. At Driveline, I was a warehouse employee; I stocked shelves, fulfilled orders, and helped with logistics.
In August of 2020, I enrolled at LTU. There, I worked in the tutoring center. I helped schedule students for tutoring and test taking. Summer 2021, I was playing summer ball and working in the warehouse at Driveline. Summer 2022, I got a marketing internship at Poulsbo Parks and Recreation Department, and at the same time, I worked for Poulsbo Public Works. In the summer of 2023, I worked as a Manager at Hat Stop. More recently, I received a year-long fellowship at Challenge Detroit. This program is set up so you work Monday through Thursday with a host company, and Fridays you work with Challenge Detroit and non-profits around the city. My host company was Mosher Dolan, a construction company. I was a Project Engineer there.
I lay all this out to give you a comprehensive understanding of my journey so far. My interesting career has taught me so much, but the main lesson has to be how to work hard and manage time effectively. I have held two jobs multiple times in my life, and had done that while being a student athlete. This has taught me how to properly allocate my time, and balance my work, social life, sleep, and passion projects.
Previous Work and Current Projects
I have worked on a number of projects for different companies. For example, I created a rebrand and marketing strategy for The Detroit Food Academy. I have also worked on Marketing teams for Wayne Metro and The Detroit Parks Coalition. Along with marketing experience, I have created logos for the Detroit Food Academy, Cold Roots Clothing Company, and Ms. Darla’s Shea Butter.
